HBP Delayed. Oh no, or Oh boy!

So, I'm sure all of you have heard by now that the Half Blood Prince movie release has been delayed. Old news. And bad news, right?

Wrong. This is the best news that could possibly befall Harry Potter fans everywhere. Let me explain.

The previous five Harry Potter movies have spawned a total of three different directors. This has lead to a total of three different renderings of Hogwarts School Grounds. This normally wouldn't be a big deal, except for one small detail. The movies are based off of the books. At any time during the books, did the Hogwarts Grounds magically change itself, like the castle seemed to from time to time? No. Therefore, the grounds should never have changed in the movies.

I will spare you all my thoughts on the quality of the past five Harry Potter movies. They stink, make up spells, skip complete school months without any kind of explanation, are covered in poo, change facts of the story for no good reason, attempt to make up more facts for no good reason, roll in manure, and basically lend a poor secondary medium to the well known and beloved series of the written Harry Potter books. And for the record, those were not my thoughts on the movies--they were facts.

So Half-Blood Prince is delayed. We, as fans, should be out celebrating in the streets as if Voldemort (otherwise known as Captain Grundy) has been overthrown yet a third time. Because this delay is possibly the first proof of any kind of director or producer wisdom we have seen behind the Harry Potter movies yet. Perhaps they realized rushing the movie isn't a good idea. Or maybe they decided to read the books--all of them--first. Or maybe, just maybe, they decided that making a good movie is possible--if only they take their time, to figure things out.

But whatever the reason, as fans of Harry Potter, we should be excited. For the worst that can happen from this delay, is getting another eight months before being dissapointed once again, and being forced to get your movie jollies by making fun of the muggles at the theatre, all dressed up like wanna-be wizards and witches. Harry Potter Theme Park

I'm sure most of you know by now that there is going to be a Harry Potter theme park opening up at Universal Studios sometime in the near future. If you didn't know that, or were unaware of that news, I will now pause so you can celebrate, scream, and rush to google to search it.

....

Excellent. Unfortunately for us, I believe that the theme park was first scheduled to open in 2009. Why is that unfortunate? Because, according to universalorlando.com (and their annoyingly slow, graphically summoned announcements page) the park is now scheduled to be “revealed” in 2010. Another whole year?! I will now pause for you too curse, scream, and rush to google to search it.

....

Don't lose hope, fans. We may have to wait even longer, but like the sixth Harry Potter Movie, the creators may just want to be sure that this theme park will take the cake, instead of just eating it too. This is Ned Nursley, signing off.
